Carl Honoré, Periodista y escritor.
This movement (slow living) arises, officially, with Carl Honoré also called "anti haste guru", in 2014, with the book "In Praise of Slowness: Challenging the Cult of Speed". Considered the spokesman for the Slow movement, he proposes slowing down life and reducing mental, academic or work loads in order to have more quality time.
“"The 'delicious paradox of slowness' shows that those who slow down through meditation, slow thinking, have more capacity to manage the fast world than those who never step on the brakes. Slowness is a superpower in a hyper-accelerated world,"
The author develops in his books.
Slow living, as the English expression indicates, refers to living life more slowly. It wants to counteract the frenetic system of modern societies, where, due to the speed with which everything happens, no one looks at themselves or even at others.
It represents the opposite of the routine full of automatisms, where consumerism is stimulated and the senses and emotions are neglected, consequences for the stability of mental health. Living slowly means seeking balance by slowing down and allowing ourselves to see, hear, smell, touch, feel and reflect.
